Widely recognized as a subject matter expert . . . you have either seen or heard of Reggie Williams if you’re involved in the field of supply chain management, minority business or “supplier diversity”…a term he coined in 1985. For more than 3 decades his firm has served as consultant to many of the world’s leading corporations and government agencies specializing exclusively on developing diverse strategic partnerships with small, women, veteran and minority owned enterprise. Reggie appears on national PBS television and in many of the international trade journals where he regularly publishes his column on supplier diversity.  His book, “2nd TIER MINORITY PURCHASING: Effective Strategies in Supplier Diversity™” is the most widely read text on the subject. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, his firm, Procurement Resources, serves an enviable clientele including more than half of the Fortune 500, representing such corporate giants as The Coca-Cola Company, IBM, Kaiser Permanente, Eli Lilly, Microsoft, AARP, Delta Air Lines and the Marriott Corporation.

  • Introduced the term “supplier diversity” to better define the mission of competitive access for small, veteran, minority, and women-owned firms
  • Collaborated with the late Congressman Parren J. Mitchell and Anthony Robinson of MBELDEF of The House Small Business Committee on minority small business legislation
  • Authored the first textbook on Supplier Diversity: “Doing Business with Minority Vendors™” with more than a quarter of a million copies sold.
  • Conducted one of the first nationwide surveys on Black Business Enterprise in 1975
  • Among the first to join the National Minority Purchasing Council, later renamed National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC) in 1972
  • First to launch e-learning applications for supplier diversity training in 1983
